Afghani Biryani Recipe


This is a kick ass recipe for Afghani Biryani which will knockout anyone who eats it. Excuse my French please. The Asian Afghani Biryani is enticing as a Main Dish for meals. I prepare this Afghani Biryani with Chicken as the main ingredient. I am sure both of us will be in agreement that this Afghani Biryani is very delectable.



  • Whole chicken 1
  • Basmati rice 2 cups
  • Onion 1
  • Carrot 1
  • Tomatoes 7
  • Almonds for garnishing
  • Raisins for garnishing
  • Whole cardamom seeds 10
  • Cloves 10
  • Cinnamon stick 1" piece
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Water 6 cups
  • Salt as per taste
  • Black pepper powder as per requirement
  • Cooking oil as per requirement

Directions

Take the carrots and onions and saute in the cooking oil.
Add to this the chicken and mix well.

Next, add cardamom seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, salt and pepper powder.
Mix well.
The chicken should be half cooked.
Add the tomato puree to the half done chicken and mix.
Cover the pot and cook over a low flame until the chicken is well cooked.
Put the rice in a separate pot and boil it in water.
When cooked, drain the water.
As the final step, cover the rice with the chicken and the spices, cover the pot and coo it over a very low flame for the next 5 mins.
In order to add to the exquisite taste, garnish it with fried almonds and raisins.
